Viewing Pleasure: The Platonic Ideal of French Toast

Sweet mother...this pile of heaven is available for $5.75 at
Pauline's. Ron and Pauline Messier do not skimp on the portions or hold back on richness, as evidenced by the menu entry: "six thick slices dipped in eggs, heavy cream, vanilla, cinnamon and orange zest, topped with powdered sugar, whipped cream and fresh strawberries." Strawberry season starts around mid-April in the south and runs from May to June up here, but who cares? This looks delicious and we want it now. Or any day by 3pm.

We think that sauce is exactly correct.
