Indian Street Food

ChaatThe street food of Delhi just got the New York Times treatment and we were surprised by how much of it and other Indian street foods is available locally. Chaat, a mix of fried snacks topped with yogurt and hot sauce, is available at nearly all Indian restaurants. The deep-fried, potato stuffed pastries known as pani puri can be found at Azaad in the Northeast. Khajuraho India in Ardmore offers papdi chat: crackers topped in yogurt, fried potatoes and onions. Pakistani restaurant Kabobeesh does the best local rendition we've seen of subcontinent-style street kebabs. And kathi rolls, flatbread wraps of grilled meats and onions, can be found at Cafe Spice in Old City and Jaipur in King of Prussia.
