It's Always Sunny When You're Moving To Philadelphia

U-HaulThe New York-Philadelphia fascination used to be summed up pretty simply. Philadelphians always viewed their city in the shadow of New York. Meanwhile, New Yorkers didn't know Philadelphians existed. But then the New York real estate market blew up and endless ex-718 & 212 residents migrated to their new home by the Delaware. The New York Sun just did a piece on Philadelphia's campaign to attract New Yorkers, spearheaded by blog Uwishunu and upcoming ad campaigns in New York alt-weeklies. Here in Philadelphia, we can name a couple of restaurants run by ex-New Yorkers. La Lupe is a South Philly reincarnation of a Woodside, Queens tacqueria, there's the nearby Redhook Coffee and, of course, restaurants that have gone the other way—like Morimoto.
