The Art of Reservations at Vetri

VetriThe Wall Street Journal just did a feature piece on the art of restaurant reservations. Here in Philadelphia, they examined the sweet science of getting a table at Vetri. For Vetri, the Journal recommends stopping by on Monday ("the easiest night to get a seat,") but also gives us the sweet stuff. By sweet stuff, we mean Vetri's much-vaunted voicemail policy:

(Vetri) accepts reservations left on voicemail but call at noon starting two months ahead. Messages are time stamped; those that come in before the official start time are ignored.
The rest of the article focuses on the art of reservations in New York, Paris, Los Angeles and elsewhere—with a special look at the sordid underworld of restaurant reservation scalpers. Yes, those really do exist.
