The Next Best Thing To Frito Pie

20071011fritopie.jpg

Alright. For those of us who haven't travelled or lived in the southwest, there's a dish known as a Frito Pie. Basically... it's a single-serving bag of Fritos that's slashed open and topped with chili con carne, shredded cheese, onions, jalapenos and sour cream. It's artery clogging American food at it's finest... and it's hard to find in Philadelphia.

Although we're unaware of any Philly area restaurants that offer Frito Pies on their menu (are there? let us know), the high-falutin' pulled pork on corn chip appetizer at Jack's Firehouse comes close. Pulled pork, piled on top of corn chips? Bring it on.

Update: National Mechanics has it. Thanks, Kelly!
