The World's Best Hot Dog

20071107hotdog.jpg

Although we dig the indigenous Philadelphian hot dog — the Texas Tommy (you know, that bacon-wrapped, cheez wiz topped frankfurter that's sent multiple generations of South Philadelphians and Fishtowners to the ER) as much as humanly possible... We just found out about the world's coolest, artery clogging hot dog.

And it's from Mexico.

Check out the Sonoran-style hot dog:

The weenie itself is a run-of-the-mill factory job made of chicken, beef, and pork. But in full regalia, wrapped in bacon, and grilled over mesquite, lost in a mound of tender pinto beans, fresh tomatoes, raw and fried onions, hot chili sauce, striped with mayonnaise and mustard, and served with a piquant yellow chile guerito, it morphs into the formidable Sonoran hot dog.

Damn. damn. damn.
