Give The Gift Of Meat

20071213beef.JPGThe Daily News has an interesting holiday gift idea... Giving the gift of beef. Recently opened Ardmore butcher Main line Prime is offering $199-a-pound imported Kobe strip steaks:

For the beef lover, this is the Cadillac of pampered prime - massaged, coddled and fed a special diet that includes beer wort, a grain-rich byproduct of the brewing process. On the international scale of beef marbling, which ranges from one to 12, these steaks are a 12, shot through with freeways of flavorful fat.

Less pricy steaks are available at the butcher shot, starting at $16.99 a pound. Which is still, you know, completely expensive. But whatever.
