Geno's Employee Beaten

20080104genos.jpgAn employee at Geno's Steaks was severely beaten at the anti-immigrant South Philly institution. Tony Chestnut was left with a factured skull, rib and spin. His collarbone is broken, his speech has been effected and he's lost hearing in his left ear following an early morning beating on December 27th.

Chestnut says the restaurant's "This is America: When Ordering Speak English" sign may have provoked the attack.

Regardless of our opinion of the restaurant's politics, our thoughts go out to Chestnut & his family.
