Sidecar Chef Moves On

0611sidecar.jpg

Rich Freedman (pictured) of South Philly gastro pub Sidecar Bar & Grille has just found himself a new gig: Chef de cuisine at Harry the K's in Citizens Bank Park.

Now, here's the thing... Harry the K's menu sticks to the traditional side of things. The most exotic items on their menu are:

• Chicken flatbread sandwiches
• Crab soup
• Chimichurri-laced skirt steak with sweet potato and yucca fries

Yes, we love contemporary ballpark food. Meanwhile, here are the most exotic items on Sidecar's menu:

• A "Sidecar Burger" topped with tasso and Marchand de Vin sauce
• House-made Cajun sausages (see pic)
• Crawfish-potato hash eggs benedict

So will Freedman's Cajun sensibility work well at Harry's? We think so.
