Atlantic Weather Systems Realize It's Been Hurricane Season For Three Months, Get Going
That tropical depression out in the Atlantic is expected to become a named storm by tonight or tomorrow, according to the National Hurricane Center. Forecasters say that the storm, which would be named Dean, could become a Category 2 hurricane by Friday, in which case it would be the first hurricane of the season. Yes, the storms have gotten to a late start this year, but, well, remember Andrew? If you haven't already stocked up on hurricane supplies, now might be the best time to do so, because store shelves will likely be wiped clean if the storm gets within a day or two from shore.
