Craving: Steamed Pork Buns

Chinatown Brasserie pork buns cropped.jpg

Mmm....pork buns. They just hit the spot sometimes. They're not too easy to find around here, although a few Chinese restaurants include them on their dim sum menus. Some of these restaurants offer baked pork buns too; not sure how that tastes, as we've only ever had steamed ones, but if the filling is the same, you can't go wrong.

Kon Chau, renowned for some of the best dim sum in Miami, offers both steamed and baked pork buns.

• At Singing Bamboo, you can get two steamed pork buns for $2.95.

Toa Toa serves baked or steamed BBQ pork buns or pork buns with chives.

• And, finally, check out Pink Buddha for more steamed roast pork buns!

My favorite steamed buns are at Tropical Chinese at 7991 SW 40th St (Bird Rd). We're there every other week or so for the dim sum.
