Scarpetta Makes Travel + Leisure's Best New Restaurants List
It's list time again! This time, we have Travel and Leisure's opinion on the 50 best new restaurants in the country. The sole South Florida mention is, of course, a New York transplant: Scarpetta, in the Fontainebleau on Miami Beach. Here's what the magazine says:
His sybaritic urban-rustic Italian specials—succulent baby goat, the best pasta al pomodoro this side of Naples—taste even better here, with those beautiful ocean vistas.Yep, just add water! That's what we do down here. Prettify things. Of course, these lists don't mean much, but it's still sad that few homegrown restaurants ever seem to make it, and even sadder when we can't think of any such restaurants that might qualify. The last year seems to be a blur of openings from New York-based chefs and steakhouses.
If you were making the list, which South Florida restaurants would you add, if any?
