Florida Has More Coal Ovens Than New York Now

anthonyscoalfired.1.JPG Here's a surprise: Florida now has more coal-oven pizzerias than New York. The folks over at Slice have been keeping tabs on the number for the last couple of years, and they've noticed a rise in coal ovens across the country. In South Florida, the number has skyrocketed. Check out the before (November 2007) and after (today) maps — there are so many clustered together in South Florida that we can't count them. Most of the growth can be attributed to the rapid expansion of Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza, which opened its newest branch this week in Pinecrest. [Slice]
